The conference will highlight the critical need to safeguard people and the environment from harmful chemicals. It calls for systematic changes, including stringent policy measures and a society-wide effort to prioritise toxic-free products.
The first panel discussion will explore how consumers can be effectively informed about the chemical content of products. The second session will examine the case for strong, evidence-based bans on harmful chemicals within EU policy. To conclude, a third discussion will look at how toxic substances can be systematically removed from construction materials through better design practices.
The event is organised by the LIFE ChemBee and ToxFree LIFE For All projects, both funded by the LIFE Programme, in collaboration with the INTERREG NonHazCity 3 project.
